DRS have tried to bring a bit more style back into its locomotive designs with the new class 68 locos. I found 68002 standing at York Station in the spot where we usually find two 1957 vintage class 20s. 68002 is named INTREPID. 68002 stands alongside the snow plough in York station. The loco stands next to the new signalling centre.
The A4 'Sir Nigel Gresley' is now in the workshop at NRM for its ten year boiler overhaul. This is it... admittedly it doesn't look much like it but I am assured that it really is 60007. And one of her predecessors from the East Coast Main line, the Stirling single complete with its new tender.
These do look pretty smart, although I wonder of that's just that we are now used to class 66/71's so anything else looks better by comparison...
