More from Doncaster.

Image
This time a few unusual liveries and events... One of the Wabtec diesel shunters in their own livery shunting a class 91 into the yard.  This is the class 91 involved... not an unusual livery but it's not very often I get the chance to photograph a 91 separated from its train... and especially from its blunt end.  Wabtec livery again but this time on a class 08 shunt engine.  A class 158 with what the books describe as "a Northern-style pictogram livery" - usually advertising places to visit in Yorkshire.  Loco no. 91 111 named "For the Fallen" pushes its London bound train into the north end of the station.  HST power car 43 238 named "National Railway Museum 40 years 1975-2015" brings up the rear of a down train.  One of Freightliners "special" liveries.. probably better not to ask!!

Doncaster Station.

A few hours at Doncaster station brings all manner of things to view.... here is a small selection with more to follow. First - a class 80x test train setting out on a run to Kings Cross.   The Works - a backdrop for the whole station.  Still the faithful HSTs soldier on... here a northbound train.  67 013 stands in the yard after works attention looking very clean and smart in the DB Red livery.  Class 180 working for Hull Trains enters the station from the North.  Such modesty... ...and several container trains. This one heading north.
