Class 60s....

I have always been a fan of the class 60s. They look so powerful and have had a bad time over the years with many of them stored or withdrawn at present. I offer a few images from various parts of the country...

60017 ascends the bank towards Whiteball tunnel on the Devon/ Somerset border with a train of loaded china clay tanks for Irvine. This loco is one of the refurbished "Super 60s" operated by DB-Cargo.

60009 entering the down yard at Bescot when new and under test. This loco is now owned by DB-Cargo but is stored at present.

60084 with Transrail vinyls  takes a train of timber out of the up loop at Clifton and sets off to climb to Shap Summit. Again this is a loco owned by DB-Cargo and stored at present.

60013 named "Robert Boyle" stands in the up loop behind Darlington station with an up tank train. This loco is not on any list and has probably been scrapped.

60093 heads west through Taunton station with a Speedlink service. Today the loco is owned by DB-Cargo and is stored.

60078 in full Transrail livery takes an up train of YEOMAN stone wagons through Wellington in Somerset. This is another loco which has disappeared from all the lists and has probably been scrapped.
